Donate blood whenever the blood supply drops to concerning level
Go2Digital, a media company for digital outdoor advertising, in partnership with the Croatian Institute of Transfusion Medicine and with the support of project friends, including Salveo, has prepared a year-long campaign with the aim of encouraging voluntary blood donation.
At various locations throughout Zagreb, digital city lights will invite people to donate blood whenever the blood supply drops to worrying levels, as it was the case at the beginning of the year.
Although Croatia has a long tradition of blood donation, the percentage of donors in the population is still only around 4%.
There are proud blood donors among celebrities, one of them being Cristiano Ronaldo, an athlete who is said to have no tattoos on his body so that he can donate blood regularly.
Besides Ronaldo, famous blood donors are Tom Hanks, Miley Cyrus, Gary Lineker, Sophia Loren and many others.
Anyone aged 18 to 65, weighing over 55 kilograms, and having a body temperature below 37°C can donate blood.
